Maude, as an artist, was known as that National Geographic lady. From her work in the book arts she has developed her own collage technique using torn pages of the mighty magazine, inks and dyes, her own photographs, and wax. She will probably kill anyone who tries to copy her formula.

Her work - applied to canvas, board, or 3D objects - can be inspired by environmental events, political issues, or just plain old irrelevancies she sees in everyday subjects. In every piece there is a revealing image which will connect the viewer to the title of the work. 

Having spent many years in the film industry in Australia, Maude decided it was time to return home and keep an eye on the aged parents. She also used this time to develop her skills as an artist..  

She is the reigning big cheese and the owner of Artel Gallery + Store at Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast
